It is a big challenge today for strategy managers to concentrate on external environment i.e look towards competition and formulate strategy according to the response, or look towards internal resources to achieve the desired growth and objectives.
most of the organisatins are very particular about their competitors and the industry in which they are operating. in any industry , lot of competitors are competing , some small and some big. when we compete in the same industry , we look upwards to emulate forgetting about the internal resources , or arrange resources out of means which can be detrimental to organisational interests.
Some organisations try to cooperate to survive and try to fight competition but it is not generally is not a optimal strategy to fight competition in todays fiercely competitive environment.
