Religion and Humanity

Today I am discussing a subject which is a taboo in today world . Everybody talks about the religion and people will talk about the humanity also. Is there something common in these two terms, or they are two shores only of a mighty river.
Surprisingly the foundation of every religion is based on the humanitarian principles, but with passage of time religion moves away from its foundation and changes its contours at the whims and fancies of the religious leaders. You name any religion of the world you will realise that it has moved away from the humanitarian principles laid down by their founders.
To take the discussion further i will like to discuss religion first. What are the basis why should religion be present in the society.
A religion is a belief system which has a following who adhere to the norms and laws advocated by the authority in the system. The said authority might be holy books, prophets and their sayings, nature or a combination of the aforementioned streams. A religion might or might not be theocentric ( belief in a god or gods) and thereare ample examples to fill in the spectrum. One may look into the basics of Jainism, Buddhism, the Abrahamic religions, Hinduism. Confucianism, Scientology to name a few, to understand the variations in what we call religions in textbook terms.
Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence.
From their beliefs about the cosmos and human nature, people derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle.According to some estimates, there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world.
Many religions may have organized behaviors, clergy, a definition of what constitutes adherence or membership, holy places, and scriptures. The practice of a religion may also include rituals, sermons, commemoration or veneration of a deity, gods or goddesses, sacrifices, festivals, feasts, trance, initiations, funerary services, matrimonial services, meditation, prayer, music, art, dance, public service or other aspects of human culture.Religions may also contain mythology.
Humanity is modern day religion Humanity is one of the most acceptable conditions in our society. Not only the most acceptable but also the most underestimated. People often help each other to get mental and hearty satisfaction.
On the other side of the story, religion is, in fact, a piece of thinking, a notion or belief system of a group of people who worships their Gods. There are many versions of religion, but despite this, in the whole world, the common aspect that unites all the religions is “humanity”. This is what all religions in the world have, whether it’s Islam, Christianity Hinduism, Buddhism or whatever it is. The basis of all the religions begins with the basic fact and elementary steps of humanity.
There’s a famous quote of humanitarian Abdul Sitar Eidhi Said, “There’s no religion in the world higher than humanity.” So from the above discussion it seems that Religion and humanity are not two shores but intertwined.

Religion within it has a humanitarian content. I am surprised that why humanity does not manifest in the religion when it is needed the most. Nowadays, in the so-called modern world and with a global-hub of more than 20 major religions, humanity’s quality appears to be fading away. The fact that we don’t understand is that this world is just like an examination. You have to score as high a score as you can to go through the final day. We need to get rid of the fact we are living a life just like a robot. We are are getting conservative and narrow-minded regularly. We want to gain respect, cash, and power, but can we give a big no to God’s questioning about humanity? About helping people? We are running away from our originality, our freedom of speech. Actually, we are running away from our lives and our deaths.
The thing we should now accept is that we should live our religions as members of humanity. By helping people all around the globe. By removing poverty from this little house in the solar system. To engage the whole human race in loving and respecting each other. To minimise the mental suffering. We should work together in every perspective of life. To eliminate the racism in this world. Humanity will help us in each and every field. Not only in this world, but also in the hereafter. There’s a very deep saying that “Religion without humanity is a very poor human stuff.”
These few words sums the whole idea of the topic. If there’s religion without humanity, then the only aim is to pray in front of God. But by including humanity, we can not only implore the God, but also satisfy our heart and build the forts of love and respect in each one’s heart.

I have emphasised the need of humanity in our identity in this lecture. But what is humanity , i will elaborate in next lecture.
